The national rules state that verbal clues must be related to the selected scientific term. In NC ONLY, judges will allow ANY verbal clues to be given that stay within the boundaries of competition rules a - j. Students should avoid rhyming schemes, giving clues in broken sentences, acronyms, etc. We do NOT believe we can "judge" the scientificness of verbal terms given by students.
