About Camp Science Olympiad
Come join the fun! Science Olympiad Camp is a week long science experience open to rising third through sixth graders. It is designed to increase student interest and competence in hands-on science activities in a relaxed, safe, and fun atmosphere. University professors will introduce their research at different points during the week as well!
Science Olympiad camp is a program offered by the North Carolina Science Olympiad (NCSO). Students do not have to be on a Science Olympiad team at their school to enroll.
Science Olympiad Camp participants will:
||increase understanding and competence of science content, processes, and applications using Science Olympiad events that are aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study
||learn to do science through hands-on and inquiry-based exploration
|| work on teams to accomplish common goals
||gain new enthusiasm and interest for science and science-related careers
||improve problem-solving, critical thinking, and laboratory skills
||make new friends;
||have loads of laughs and lots of fun
Locations, Dates, and Times
All camps will be held in the Science House on Cenntennial Campus NC State University, 909 Capability Drive, Raleigh, NC.
Details on dropoff and pickup will be provided in your camp packet.
All camps will run from 9 - 4, with the option of before and after care if needed.
We will cover the following themes this summer:
June 16-20 – STEAM Camp - Putting Art into STEM - Learn about a variety of scientific concepts and then tie them to creative projects. For example, students will learn the basics about circuits and then build a pin or other peice of jewelry with a working circuit built in!
June 23-27 – Work it Out! - The Science of Fitness and Exercise - Students will learn about how anatomy, nutrition and fitness tie together. A variety of foods will be explored, measure pulse and heart rate during different levels of activity and explore how concussions affect the brain.
July 7-11 – Build It! - Bottle Rockets, Bridges, Cars and More! (FULL)
July 14-18 – STEAM Camp - Putting Art into STEM
July 21-25 – Work it Out! - The Science of Fitness and Exercise
July 28-August 1 – Build It! - Bottle Rockets, Bridges, Cars and More!
Registration fees include a catered lunch, morning and afternoon snacks (please send a water bottle), a camp t-shirt, notebook, safety glasses or goggles, and many other resources and materials throughout the week specific to their session.
Full day sessions $350
Extended care sessions are available for additional charges.

Science Olympiad Camp is a program of the North Carolina Science Olympiad and all payments will be made to North Carolina Science Olympiad (NCSO). Payment can be completed during the online registration process.
Registration after April 15, 2014 must be paid in full.

April 15, 2014. Deadline for registering with a $50 deposit
After April 15, 2014. Registration fees must be paid in full
May 30, 2014. : Deadline to pay remaining balance of registration fees
Previous Science Olympiad experience not required!
Once you have registered online for Science Olympiad Camp, registration will not be considered complete until the forms below have been completed and submitted by email, mail, or fax. Forms should be submitted within two weeks of online registration in order for registration to be complete.

Cancellations and Refunds
If NCSO cancels a camp, registrants will receive a full refund of the deposit and camp fees. NCSO reserves the right to cancel and refund registrations for any reason.
If you cancel a camp registration on or before April 30, 2014, then you will receive a refund for all registration fees paid, minus the $50 deposit. If you cancel a camp registration after April 30, 2014, you will not receive a refund for fees or the $50 deposit. Instead, the fees paid, less the $50 deposit, will be treated as a tax-deductible contribution to North Carolina Science Olympiad.
North Carolina Science Olympiad is a 501(c)3 non profit organization registered with the IRS.
If the session you would like to register for is full, consider joining our waiting list. You will not be required to pay camp fees in full unless you are contacted and wish to proceed with registration.
