About Camp Olympiad
Come join the fun! Camp Olympiad is a week long science experience open to rising second through sixth graders with courses available in the morning and afternoon. It is designed to increase student interest and competence in hands-on science activities in a relaxed, safe, and fun atmosphere.
Camp Olympiad is a program offered by the North Carolina Science Olympiad (NCSO). Students do not have to be on a Science Olympiad team at their school to enroll.
Camp Olympiad participants will:
||increase understanding and competence of science content, processes, and applications using Science Olympiad events that are aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study
||learn to do science through hands-on and inquiry-based exploration
|| work on teams to accomplish common goals
||gain new enthusiasm and interest for science and science-related careers
||improve problem-solving, critical thinking, and laboratory skills
||make new friends;
||have loads of laughs and lots of fun
Locations, Dates, and Times
Camp Olympiad sessions run Monday through Friday of each scheduled week. Morning drop off begins at 8:30 am. Before Care is available starting at 7:30 am for an additional cost.

|Blast It!||Teams work their way through the physics of flight with Stomp Rockets and water powered bottle rockets.|
|Catapult It!||Campers test the physics of projectile motion as they build and test catapults designed to hit targets at varying distances.|
|Engineer It!||Teams learn the engineering principles behind constructing structures made from various materials as they experiment with bridges and towers.|
|Fly It!||Campers explore the physics of flight as they work their way through paper or blasa planes and gliders.|
|Solve It!|| Campers gather evidence and learn how to process it with chemistry and sound scientific practices in order to solve a mystery.|
|Plant It!||Campers learn about nature, identifying local trees and insects, and create their own living ecosystem in a bottle.|
|Proteggct It!||Campers learn about the physical properties of various materials as they design and build devices to protect eggs from breaking when dropped from increasing heights.|
|Live It!||Campers learn about the organ systems in their own bodies, as well as the nutrition that keeps them fueled.|

You may register campers for one week-long course in the morning and/or one week-long course in the afternoon. Registration fees include snacks, a camp t-shirt, notebook, safety glasses or goggles, and many other resources and materials throughout the week specific to their session.
Half day sessions $175
Full day sessions $350
Campers staying for the full day are eligible for a free supervised lunch period. Students staying for supervised lunch should bring their own lunch.
Extended day care sessions are available for additional charges.

Camp Olympiad is a program of the North Carolina Science Olympiad and all payments will be made to North Carolina Science Olympiad (NCSO). We prefer payment to be made online by credit/bank card. Payment can be completed during the online registration process.
A $50 deposit is required to complete registration. This deposit will be applied to the total cost of the registration and is nonrefundable unless NCSO cancels that camp. If you register on or before April 15, 2013, then you may pay the $50 deposit to reserve your spot, but the remaining balance must be paid in full by May 3, 2013. Registration after April 15, 2013 must be paid in full.

Previous Science Olympiad experience not required!
Once you have registered online for Camp Olympiad, registration will not be considered complete until the forms below have been completed and submitted by email, mail, or fax. Forms should be submitted within two weeks of online registration in order for registration to be complete.

Cancellations and Refunds
If NCSO cancels a camp, registrants will receive a full refund of the deposit and camp fees. NCSO reserves the right to cancel and refund registrations for any reason.
If you cancel a camp registration on or before April 30, 2013, then you will receive a refund for all registration fees paid, minus the $50 deposit. If you cancel a camp registration after April 30, 2013, you will not receive a refund for fees or the $50 deposit. Instead, the fees paid, less the $50 deposit, will be treated as a tax-deductible contribution to North Carolina Science Olympiad.
North Carolina Science Olympiad is a 501(c)3 non profit organization registered with the IRS.
If the session you would like to register for is full, consider joining our waiting list. You will not be required to pay camp fees in full unless you are contacted and wish to proceed with registration.

Be sure to let her know which dates, site, courses, and your camper's name and grade level. She will confirm your spot on the wait list via email and contact you if it becomes available.
