Funding Status
| As most of you know, the North Carolina Science Olympiad was eliminated from the State Budget and is operating on a $150,000 deficit for the 2011 - 2012 School Year. NCSO needs your support to continue recognizing and developing the best and brightest young women and men in the State of North Carolina. NCSO exists to attract and retain the pool of K-12 students pursuing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degrees and careers. NCSO elevates academic learning and competition to a level of enthusiasm and support that is normally reserved only for athletic programs in schools. NCSO is a proven and effective program that ignites a passion for science in participants and leads them to degrees and careers in STEM.
It is our goal to find new sponsors who will partner with us and help fill the deficit so we can continue to offer the high quality program NC has come to know and love. If you or your company would like to become a part of the solution, or know of someone else who may, please contact the NCSO State Office or consider one of the options below. |

Other Ways to Give -
State Employees Combined Campaign - Did you know you can choose NCSO as your non-profit to give to through the State Employee's Combined Campaign? If your workplace does matching gifts your donation can go twice as far! We do not have a SECC ID number listed, but all you have to do is write in our information yourself. It will ask you for our full name, federal ID (FEIN), and address, all of which can be printed here. Thank you again for your continued support of NCSO!!
NCSO Endowment Fund- Through a generous initial contribution, the North Carolina Science Olympiad was able to establish an endowment fund via the NC Community Foundation. The North Carolina Community Foundation accepts many types of charitable gifts, which are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Among the types of contributions that can be used to fund an endowment are cash (or checks) – often the simplest and most convenient form of gift, publicly traded securities (equities, bonds, mutual funds), closely held stock, real estate, or tangible personal property.
In addition to the types of contributions already listed, there are many other ways a donor may give to an endowment fund. Many of these methods involve planned gifts or estate planning, which may provide donors and their heirs the benefit of lower income- and estate taxes. Cash may be given to the fund through an online donation form on the NCCF website, our official name is North Carolina Science Olympiad (put this in the "Other Fund" box). To make a different type of contribution, please contact NCCF for assistance.
