Cree Sponsorship Empowers STEM Education for High School Students Across North Carolina
(Raleigh, NC) –The North Carolina Science Olympiad have announced that Cree, Inc. (Nasdaq: CREE), home to Wolfspeed, the global leader in silicon carbide power solutions, has committed as a major sponsor of the Division C – High School Science Olympiad tournaments across North Carolina. Science Olympiad is a rigorous academic science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) competition that elevates learning to a level of enthusiasm typically reserved for sports. In addition, Cree employees will volunteer and provide speed mentoring to students at the annual State Tournament on April 26, 2019 at North Carolina State University.

North Carolina Science Olympiad (NCSO) is a nonprofit organization with the mission to attract and retain the pool of K-12 students entering science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degrees and careers in North Carolina. Every year, NCSO hosts tournaments on university, community college, and public-school campuses across the state.
