Competition time is upon us. We look forward to having your school compete in the Laurinburg Regional Tournament at St. Andrews on March 17. We are busy working on the details for the big event. Keep your figures crossed for great weather.
Attached you will find maps, building diagrams, home base assignments and schedule. I hope I have all the details covered. However, you should not be surprised if a few last minute changes are required.
We will be preparing participate certificates again this year. We will be using the registration information from Avogadro to prepare the certificates. Please do not wait until the last minute to list team members. It would be a big help if we could have the names on Wednesday, March 14. We will do are best to have all the certificates ready for pick up from Olympiad Central after 1 on the day of the event.
This year we should be able to pick up the information on second session participation on walk-in events from Avogadro so we will not be asking for the information in advance as we have done in past years. It still would be a good idea to advise the registration desk of any teams planning to use the second session of a walk-in event just in case. The goal is to free the event leaders just as soon as all teams have had a chance to do the event. It is no fun to wait 40 minutes to discover no one is coming to do the event.
We have not received much feedback on the are efforts to provide photos of all the winners and a press release. Is this something you would like to see St. Andrews continue? Let us know.
I know it is a little late, but it you have thoughts on things which we might do to improve the Olympiad at St. Andrews please share them with us. We may be able to handle simple things before this year’s event. Complex things will be placed under consideration for another year.
You should have received last week an email telling you how to access all the forms required for the event. There are a lot of signatures to collect so don’t wait until the last minute to start filling out the forms. If you have received your forms email from Amy Lamb, her email is email@example.com.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Dr. Knesel or me. We will do are best to find an answer.
