 NC Science Olympiad Summer Camps

The North Carolina Science Olympiad with generous funding from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, is accepting applications for two; one-week, full-day summer camps for rising 6th-, 7th-, 8th-and 9th-grade students. These camps are designed to increase student interest and competence in hands-on science activities in a relaxed, safe and fun atmosphere. Students do not have to be on a Science Olympiad team at their school to enroll. In fact, we give priority to students not currently on a Science Olympiad Team.

Please read what our parents though of last year's summer camp by clicking here here!

The NCSO Summer Camp Participants Will:

- increase understanding and competence of science content, processes, and applications using middle school Science Olympiad events that are aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study;
- learn to do science through hands-on and inquiry-based exploration;
- learn to work on teams to accomplish goals;
- gain new enthusiasm and interest for science and science-related careers;
- improve problem-solving, critical thinking, and laboratory skills;
- participate in a real Science Olympiad tournament;
- make new friends; and
- have loads of laughs and lots of fun!
